What we do

We are a young and energetic Rotary Club looking for Brisbane young professionals to join us. We meet every first and third Wednesday night at the Southbank TAFE. Please contact us so we can answer any questions and provide an e-introduction with one of our members before your first meeting.

You are welcome to become a member of our club once you have attended two Club meetings and at least one social event.

Find out more about Who we are or view our Upcoming Events.

We are continually growing and developing our own events and projects, as well as partnering with other organisations. These can have a local, national or international focus. Here’s some to get you started:

Be an Elf

The Be an Elf Christmas Appeal aims to assist children from under privileged home to have a better Christmas. Rotarians from our Club assist by putting together packages containing basic presents for you children, often including Something to Read, Something to Wear, Something for School and Something to Play With. The requests often include requests for everyday basics such as shoes for school, or cot sheets for a baby’s bed. It is a great opportunity to be able to contribute to such a great cause

Personal Development sessions and Wellness Days

At our regular fortnightly meetings we often host guest speakers on a range of interesting topics. Our group is also passionate about improving our Physical and Mental Health so to assist with this we regularly hold Yoga/Pilates/Meditation/Personal Training/Goal Setting sessions to help us develop and improve our general wellbeing.

Supporting Youth Programs

As a Group of aspiring young professionals we are passionate about supporting Rotary’s established suite of Youth leadership, Team Building and Personal Development Programs. RYPEN (15-17 year olds), RYTS (17-18 year olds) and RYLA (18-25 year olds) are great opportunities for young people to learn and develop.

These programs are fully funded by Rotary and are available at no cost to the participants.

Rotaract is a Rotary-sponsored community service and professional development organisation for individuals aged 18 to 30. Rotaract clubs are part of a global effort to bring peace and international understanding to the world. This effort starts at the community level but knows no limits in its outreach.
As one of Rotary’s most significant and fastest-growing service programs, with more than 8,400 clubs in about 170 countries and geographical areas, Rotaract has become a worldwide phenomenon.

While our club welcomes those from any age, both young and young-at-heart, a number of members participated in Rotaract prior to joining our Club. We continue to work with, and support, the local clubs in our district, which include:

Blood Donations

Every Blood Donation can help save up to 3 lives. People of all walks of life need blood products. Some need it to get them through a serious event in their lives, like cancer or a difficult pregnancy. Others have medical conditions which mean they need blood products regularly to stay alive or be healthy. Once every 3 months the Rotary Club of Brisbane River City get together to donate blood before finding somewhere to catch up over a nice dinner. A great excuse to help others and have fun in the process.

Childrens Aid International

This Charity was established by a former member member of the Rotaract Club of South Brisbane, members of which formed this Club in 2016. Childrens Aid International Inc. (CAI) is a volunteer run, non-profit, Queensland registered charity established in 2010. Our mission is to raise funds, promote awareness and provide opportunities to support women and children in developing countries. We do this by building relationships with small or overlooked organisations and help them to provide shelter, security, education and healthcare for their communities.
